A symbolic passage through which an old form breaks down in order to make room for a new configuration.

Transformation is one of the major dynamics of tarot. It can be gentle or brutal, visible or slow, consented to or imposed by reality.

Cards such as XIII, The Tower, or Judgement are often particularly marked by this logic.
