Mage Edmond
A figure associated with the symbolic origin of certain French divinatory decks, notably those that would later be published under the name Belline.
Mage Edmond is a somewhat mysterious figure in the history of French cartomancy. Tradition reports that he elaborated a set of cards and symbolic meanings in the 19th century.
These materials were supposedly rediscovered and then published in the 20th century by Belline, who helped diffuse them to the general public.
From an encyclopedic perspective, Mage Edmond is often mentioned as a transitional figure between certain 19th-century cartomancy practices and the modern divinatory decks associated with the name Belline.
