Hebrew Letters

The sacred alphabet of the Hebrew tradition, often associated with tarot in certain modern esoteric and kabbalistic readings.

The Hebrew letters do not historically belong to the original structure of the Tarot de Marseille. Their association with the arcana mainly stems from later occultist traditions.

In several esoteric systems, each major arcana has been linked with a Hebrew letter in order to integrate tarot into a broader symbolic architecture, often connected with Kabbalah.

In a serious approach, it is important to distinguish clearly between the history of tarot as a game and the Hermetic or kabbalistic constructions attached to it later.
