Coherence

The quality of a spread whose cards, positions, and syntheses are articulated according to an intelligible logic.

Coherence is one of the major criteria of a serious reading. A good spread is not an accumulation of keywords, but a system of relationships in which each card finds its place.

A coherent reading takes into account both the cards taken separately, their function, their tensions, their reinforcements, and their shared orientation.
