Home: definition

Home is the symbolic domain of roots, the inner base, the domestic frame and intimate anchoring. It designates the place from which a person lives and builds themselves.

It does not refer only to the house in the material sense: it also points to the psychic, emotional and symbolic base that gives security, belonging and a stable starting point.

It speaks of origins, family, childhood and all that constitutes the ground on which life is built: that to which one returns and from which one sets out.

In the twelve-house spread, this matter is usually linked to House IV, associated with the home, family roots and the person's deepest intimacy.

The cards linked to home qualify the relationship with the base of security: a solid, nourishing anchor, or on the contrary fragile, conflicted roots or a feeling of uprooting.

Reading the home is, at heart, reading the foundations: understanding from which inner base a person acts helps understand their way of facing the world and of seeking, or not, stability.

Reading the home carefully avoids a frequent mistake: confusing the material house with inner security. A person can have a roof and feel rootless, or lack one and possess a solid inner anchor.

Reading the home well, then, means listening for that inner ground beneath the surface circumstances, because a person acts from where they feel rooted, or from where they do not.
